About Our Agency

Joy's Children's Learning Center Inc. (JCLC), currently implements a successful early childcare program in the heart of Baldwin Park, Norwalk, and La Puente California. We are a CDSS licensee, operating four childcare centers in cities across Southern California, where we provide childcare services to infants, toddlers, and preschool children. We currently have a CCTR contract that will service 88 families. Our program helps to fill the void for the care and nurturing of early learners from 0-5 years of age. Currently, 90% of families with infants, toddlers, and preschool age children must look outside of the community to find childcare services due to a lack of infant, toddler, and preschool programs. Our program is helping to meet this need by expanding our childcare center and by offering a quality improvement plan to ensure that we will support the children and the families in our community both culturally and through linguistic development.

JCLC is presently expanding our services to children from 0-3 years of age in Norwalk, California. The CCTR contract will help JCLC expand serves for more families across Southern California.

Joy's Children's Learning Center Inc. caters to the needs of the whole child with family engagement participation, quality indoor/outdoor classroom environments, a qualified teaching staff, ongoing teacher training and development, ongoing program assessments, staying in compliance with state and local regulations, health, and safety practices, and with the support of the community. Meeting these goals help us to ensure the delivery of a quality learning program for the children and the families we will serve. Currently, our mission is to "Create a Joy for Learning" for all children and their families. We aim to bridge the gaps of home and school connections by having fun and educating families on developmentally appropriate practices. Although academic and social and emotional development is a serious matter, our goal is to support and sustain the growth and trajectory of each child. Our vision is to prepare all children to enter school healthy, ready, and well equipped academically, socially, and emotionally. We will use this vision to ensure the delivery of a quality early learning program for the children and families serve. JCLC will achieve this goal by ensuring our philosophy, which is to work with our families, our community, and a host of early childcare organizations to foster learning and social emotional development to the children in our care.

The methods that JCLC will use to implement the delivery of a quality early learning program for the children and families served is through assessment tools, a family involvement plan, staff development plan, agency compliance plan, and health and social services plan and implementation. The assessment tools will consist of the ITERS and ECERS Assessment Tools, the CLASS Tool, DRDP Assessments, and the ASQ and ASQ-SE Tool. These assessment tools are geared to maximize the learning opportunities for all children in the classroom. The teaching staff will be able to effectively individualize learning for each child, see trends, and set classroom goals. These tools will be implemented to support the indoor and outdoor classrooms, intentional interactions from the teaching staff, and social, emotional, and academic needs of the children. After each assessment is done, the teaching staff and administration will set next step goals and ongoing classroom goals, student goals, and goals with the families to support the development of each child.
